The Board of ICP is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation, setting the strategy and ensuring that it is implemented. The Board is supported in its work by the Executive who are responsible for implementing the strategy and keeping the Board fully updated on all matters relating to ICP.

Directors

Belinda Moller
Chairperson
Belinda Moller joined the Board of ICP in March 2023 and was appointed Chair of the Board in June 2024. Belinda is a Group Analyst, working as a Group Therapist and Supervisor, in private practice in Dublin city centre since 2015. She also works with leaders and staff teams from medical, educational, legal and public sectors using a range of psychodynamic and socio-analytic approaches. She provides a container for thinking deeply about group dynamics and organisational problems.
Belinda is a Board member of The Psychoanalytic Section of ICP. She is also a member of The Irish Group Analytic Society (IGAS), and The Group Analytic Society International (GASi), The Balint Society UK, and a number of relevant professional organisations including ISPSO and OPUS. Belinda has a PhD in Strategy from Trinity College, Dublin (2008).

Jason Brennan
Vice Chairperson
Jason Brennan joined the Board of ICP in December 2024. Jason is a Certified Transactional Analyst psychotherapist and also holds a BA in Psychoanalysis. He has been an accredited psychotherapist (IAHIP), and coach (ICF) in Ireland and New Zealand, and has over 25 years’ experience in the mental health and training fields.
Jason is an honorary lifetime member of the UCD Psychological Society, and the founder and president of TIATA – The Irish Association of Transactional Analysis. He authored a book, co-written with mental health advocate Brent Pope; WIN: Proven Strategies for Success in Sports, Life and Mental Health. He has been on the Board of many government and corporate coaching panels as well as delivering a wide variety of training. His practice is located in Malahide, Dublin.

Mary Moriarty joined the Board of ICP in September 2022.

Maureen Treanor
Couple & Family Therapy Section
Maureen Treanor joined the Board of ICP in 2023. She is a registered systemic psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 25 years’ experience of working therapeutically with people in a variety of settings. With a background in Adult Education and Spirituality, Maureen holds a BA in Theology and Psychology and worked in All Hallows College from 1994 – 2007. She has trained extensively in mindfulness and was a faculty member of the Institute for Mindfulness (IMA) and applies mindfulness in her therapeutic practice.
Maureen has many years’ experience of working in the area of addiction and recovery and has been accredited with Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI) as a counsellor and clinical supervisor since 2008. Maureen holds an MA in Cross Professional Supervision and a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Supervision. She also has experience working therapeutically in education and has worked in the area of counselling in primary schools for several years. Maureen is the current Chairperson of the Family Therapy Association of Ireland (FTAI).

Anna Comerford
Psychoanalytic Section
Anna Comerford joined the Board of ICP in September 2023. Anna is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Training Group Analyst and Accredited Supervisor. She received a Clinical Qualification in Group Analysis from the Institute of Group Analysis, London and holds an M.Sc., in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from UCD. Anna was previously a Registered Practitioner with The Association for Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI), and is a member of the Irish Group Analytic Society (IGAS).
Anna has been working as a Psychotherapist and Supervisor in both Public and Private Mental Health Services over recent decades and has presented papers at International Conferences both in Ireland and abroad. She is a Training Group Analyst on the Qualifying Course / MSc, in Group Analytic Psychotherapy at The School of Psychotherapy in UCD. Anna is the current Chairperson of the Psychoanalytic Section of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).

John O’Connor
Psychoanalytic Section
John O’Connor is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, a member of the Irish Forum for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, having completed training with the Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. John is also a trained clinical psychologist, having worked for many years with Adult Mental Health Services with the HSE.
John is Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology in the School of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin, where he is also Course Director of the MPhil in Psychoanalytic Studies. He lectures and supervises students, trainees, and clinicians in both clinical psychology and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. He has a particular interest in ruminations and rituals, the development of creative blocks, the development of the capacity for clinical engagement, and processes of supervision and support for clinicians. He has published extensively in the fields of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and clinical psychology.

Denis Mahoney
Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy Section
Denis Mahony joined the Board of ICP in March 2024. Denis is a full-time IAHIP accredited psychotherapist in private practice in Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2. Denis was previously on the Board of the Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapists.
Coming from a finance and business background, Denis has over ten years in senior leadership roles in the not-for-profit sector including as finance director for a large homelessness charity. Denis was a member of the LGBTQ+ Network Committee in Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Jacky Grainger
Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy Section
Jacky Grainger joined the Board of ICP in October 2024. Jacky is a Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist and Supervisor. She moved into trauma informed therapy training in the mid 2000’s and focused on working with people who’d been abused while under the care of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
Jacky is passionate about ethical and developmentally appropriate therapy for children, has acted as a journalistic source for RTÉ for her expertise on psychotherapy and young people, and is a member of the IAHIP Ethics Committee. Her work has focused especially on marginalised groups such as the Traveller Community, people in poverty and addiction, the LGBTQ+ community, and in particular gender minority youth.
ICP People

Rúaidhrí O’Connor
CEO
Rúaidhrí was appointed CEO of ICP in March 2024 and brings with him over 40 years’ experience in the health, disability and welfare sectors. Rúaidhrí was previously CEO of The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP), for over 17 years, during which time CORU opened its register of physiotherapists. Rúaidhrí has a wealth of experience in advocating and negotiating with the Department of Health, the HSE and CORU. Rúaidhrí also spent over three years as a management consultant specialising in strategic and business planning for health and voluntary organisations. Prior to this Rúaidhrí spent 12 years in senior management roles with Enable Ireland as National Development Manager and Regional Director of Services, and was also with the former Eastern Health Board for 15 years as a Superintendent Community Welfare Officer and Community Welfare Officer. Rúaidhrí holds an M.A. in Public Management and a BSc in Public Administration.

Sinéad Dockery
Senior Admin
Sinéad was appointed Senior Administrator (Web Development & Social Media Management) of ICP in August 2019. Sinéad was previously the Press & Information Officer with CARI (Children at Risk in Ireland). Sinéad worked in London for over a decade, as a Deputy Editor for two magazines (Executive Woman & Ignition Motoring for Women); and Research Assistant (Digital Media) with Media Trust, the UK’s leading communications charity. Sinéad also has a strong background in the volunteer community as a Special Constable (Garda Reserve) with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and Helpline Volunteer / Digital Marketing Volunteer (Dublin Rape Crisis Centre). A proficient public servant, she has considerable experience of working in frontline organisations with vulnerable people / groups affected by severe trauma. Re: web development, Sinéad proposed, designed, implemented, and presented real-world projects appropriate to her specialisation – BSc Digital Design, Technology, and Innovation (Technological University Dublin). Sinéad also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation (University of Galway).
